Sydney Coastal Walk: Bondi to Coogee

Rusty and I had been hearing since we got here about how beautiful Bondi Beach is and how we just had to get up there.  So, on Sunday morning, we walked through the suburbs up to Bondi to see what it was all about.

Bondi, undoubtedly, is gorgeous.

Even in the dead of winter (hard to believe, eh?), the water was full of surfers, and there were tons of runners, cyclists, sunbathers, and wanderers out.  Rusty and I aren’t surfers (yet!), but we were particularly interested in the Bondi Icebergs, a health club that has a seawater pool, right on the water.

Gorgeous, right?  A single swim costs $5.50 for adults.  Might be worth it one of these days!  The water isn’t quite warm enough for me to swim in yet; it’s still around 63 degrees Fahrenheit.

We had a birthday party to get to in Coogee later in the day, so we decided to follow the Coastal Path down from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach, which was probably a 5km or 6km walk.  It was beautiful!  We passed through many beautiful beaches and hidden spots along the way.

Have I mentioned that Rusty likes to look at things in the water?

There were lots of tidal pools with all kinds of brand new (to us) critters and plants in them.

Of all the beaches we saw, I think Bronte Beach is my favorite.  The people hanging out there seemed pretty chill, and it had the best ocean pool!  30m and free.  Sounds good to me!

I think I might be spending a lot of time here in the summer!
